We’re excited to announce the launch of the Autoimmune Biomedical Collaborative (ABC), a new UBC Research Excellence Cluster focused on advancing understanding and treatment of autoimmune diseases.
Autoimmune conditions affect millions of people worldwide, yet many remain difficult to diagnose and treat. ABC brings together researchers, clinicians, and patient partners to explore the common threads across these diseases and to translate discoveries into meaningful health solutions.
Our collaborative approach will:
- Spark innovative research projects that reveal how autoimmune diseases develop and progress.
- Test promising new therapies in the lab to move them closer to patient care.
- Expand access to valuable clinical resources and strengthen connections between research and practice.
- Build partnerships with patient groups and support the next generation of researchers through training and mentorship.
By connecting expertise across disciplines, ABC aims to accelerate discoveries that can improve lives and shape the future of autoimmune disease care.
